Tips For Organising Your Scrapbooking Supplies

Scrapbooking can be compared to baking, you love to bake cakes but don't like clean up and do the dishes afterwards, with scrapbooking it's such a fun project but you don't like cleaning up the mess created whilst putting together your scrapbook. Does this sound like you?
Well with a bit of organising it will never be a chore again.

1. Lay all of your scrapbooking supplies onto a table, on the floor - where ever as long as you have all of your supplies together.
2. Organise them into piles of similar items; you may end up with a group for pens, a group for ribbons, a group for paper, a group embellishments. if you are really organised group your embellishments into sub groups; stickers, buttons, flowers, sequins, frames and so on. 3. if you have a lot of embellishments of certain themes you could create another pile, for example you may have a lot of Disney stickers so you would put them together and separate them from your Christmas stickers or Halloween stickers.
4. once you have created your piles you will know how many storage containers you are going to need. To begin with you could use anything just to keep them separate, plastic bags, shoe boxes, ice cream containers. However to keep your home looking tidy i would recommend that you purchase scrapbooking storage units or plastic containers that are all similar - you don't want your room to look like a junk yard with plastic bags of stuff everywhere and containers can
be neatly piled on top of each other in a cupboard or corner of a room.
Some containers have slots where you can put a label identifying what is in the container, if it doesn't come with this create a label yourself. The key to organising your scrapbooking supplies is that your items are easily found when you need them and that the items are kept tidy within the scrapbooking container. For example don't just through all of your ribbons into a container, roll them up so you can easily see them, they won't get tangled up and they won't get creased.

Follow these simple tips and your scrapbooking supplies will be easily found and it won't take you long to tidy up when you have to leave your project to do something else.
